Malaysia Esports Championship (MEC) 2020/2021

The first ever national level esports championship, MEC 2020/2021 was held throughout December 2020 and January 2021, with total grand prize of RM100,000 offered. About 3,600 teams were registered, more than 11,000 players validated, with more than 1.6 million viewership numbers. Winner of MLBB category qualifies for MPL MY Qualifiers Top 8 and winner of PUBGM category qualifies to PMNC MYSG.

In collaboration with MDEC’s Level Up KL 2020, ESI held the virtual conference session on 28th and 29th November 2020. 5 topics were discussed, covering many aspects and interest points within the gaming and esports industry. Some notable panelist includes, Wan Hazmer (Metronomik), Frank Ng (Orange eSports), Kevin Wong (Wulf Esports), Caitlin Kang (ESL) and YB Senator Wan Ahmad Fayhsal, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports.
